The Lawson cypress (Chamaecyparis lawsoniana, known as Port Orford cedar) is an evergreen plant native to the western coasts of the United States. In areas of origin it can reach 50 meters in height. The leaves are scaly, imbricated and carried on flattened twigs. Especially found on steep mountain slopes and canyons. It is widely used as an ornamental plant in parks, where it doesn't reach more than 30 meters height.
