The livistona merrillii is a genus of plants of the Arecaceae family, native to Australia and Southeast Asia. The palm tree can reach 20 meters in height and shows a distinctive foliage in the shape of a fountain. For cultivation it requires a sunny exposure, or in partial shade and sandy soil. It is used as an indoor plant and in mild climate regions it is grown outdoors for the decoration of parks and gardens.
