The sea coconut (Lodoicea maldivica) grows exclusively on the Praslin and Curieuse islands in the Seyscelles. It grows up to 25-30 meters in height. The leaves are fan-shaped and can reach 7-10 meters in length and 4.5 meters in width. The mature fruit reaches 40 cm in diameter and 15-30 kg in weight. It's widely used as an ornamental tree in many areas of the tropics.
